HAPPY 11th DE-SUUNG RAISING DAY

Eleven years ago, a project by the name of De-Suung was born from the heart of the selfless leader,  His Majesty the King. Today is the day to extend our gratitude to our supreme commander and remind who are De-Suups. De-Suug is considered the highest form of voluntary action in Bhutan. In orange uniform, we are the De-Suup Nyamros. We are the 'Guardians of Peace', coming from all walks of life.

On this very important day, let us all remember the common commitment of serving the Tsa-Wa-Sum (King, Country, and People) and our guiding values.

Happy Eleventh Raising Day to all the De-Suup Nyamros!

THANK YOU, YOUR MAJESTY!

Officially a De-Suup: The End of Beginning

Along with all the Nyamros (friends) who underwent the 48th Batch of De-Suung training, I take a breath of satisfaction and success. We are officially the members of 'Guardian of Peace' coinciding with the birth anniversary of His Royal Highness, Gyalsey, Jigme Namgyal Wangchuck. Congratulations to all the Nyamros trained in various training centers. With the orange uniform, we have shared commitments in the service of His Majesty the King. So, this is the end of the beginning.

I will always cherish the training period and the privilege I had of being the parade commander (De-Suung Captain). I shall strive towards maintaining the sanctity of the uniform, as advised by the King.

My sincere gratitude to His Majesty the King for this opportunity. Thank you, Wing VIII Commander, Training Officer, Adjutant, and the Administration team for outstanding management of all the activities. Our gratitude to the president, Samtse College of Education for the effort in making the training happen in the college. Welcoming the new year 2022 with the roomies.

The three of have been living under the same ceiling for three years in the college (Samtse College of Education). We just have a semester more to mature and create memories together.

For the first time in three years, we got to be together on the first day of the new year (1/1/22) while we wait for the De-Suung training. Otherwise, we would have gone home for the winter vacation. As we welcome the new year and mark Nyilo, we made our day out to hoist wind horse prayer flags (Luung Dhar).

To the world, we wish for happiness, peace, freedom, and all the positivity for the new year. Happy New Year 2022.

Mainnet of the Pi Network

The Mainnet of the Pi blockchain will go live soon (it can be earliest by tomorrow or latest by in a few days). Pi Mainet going live in simple words mean that we will be able to see the value of the Pi in the blockchain. In other words, Pi will become a full-fledged cryptocurrency.

The Mainnet will have two periods:

1. The Enclosed Network
In this period, the Pi network will not have external connectivity. However, pioneers can use Pi for any kind of exchange in goods and services within the network. This period will also allow pioneers to pass KYC and migrate the Pi to Mainnet blockchain (transfer in wallets).

2. The Open Network
Most probably on 14th March 2022, on Pi day (depending on the maturity of the enclosed network period), the open network will begin. That will be the period where Pi network will have all external connectivity with any other network.

Important Requirements Before the Mainnet
  • Download Pi Browser
  • Create a Pi Wallet ( Do not forget to copy and keep the passphrases secure. In the Mainnet, you cannot reset the passphrase and all your Pi will be lost
  • Decide how much Pi you want to lock up
  • Submit your KYC Application (coming soon)
Dear Pioneers (especially Bhutanese), feel free to drop any queries in the comment box.

Just to look back some days

How the days are spent counts more than the number of days that pass by. What could be paralleled to the time well spent with the pals?

As we age, our memory may fade. So, I am keeping a written memory of us, dear brothers.

Pi Mainnet Coming Soon : Things to do before the mainnet

 Hello Pioneers!

Pi is entering the mainnet soon. It will happen before the end of 2021. This means pi will become a real currency soon in the blockchain. Besides excitement, the following are some of the things one must complete before the mainnet.

1. Since the mass KYC (know your customer) verification will be done soon, all must verify phone number, email, Facebook, and password to hasten the verification process of KYC.

2. Download Pi browser

3. Generate Pi wallet and keep the passphrase safe and secure

4. Finally Keep MINING

A grandma's point of view

I lived here for decades and I would never imagine living away from the place where I was born. Living in the village is like living in a higher realm than in chaotic towns. I am a mother of nine children and all of them prefer living in towns.

One would expect children to be at the service of parents at their old age. In my case, not even one of the nine children lives in the village with me. Some of them live in Zhung (referred to as the capital city of Bhutan, Thimphu), and the rest in Ja (abroad). It is even harder for me to believe the situation than any other person. Nevertheless, I am breathing the air of calmness in my village. It is very sad to observe the reducing number of neighbors, houses being locked, and fields left to become forests.

The younger generations are interested in accessing modern facilities which they believe to be getting in the urban places. They completely forget that the basic needs of humans, starting from organic food to free shelters are abundantly present in villages. Sometimes, I get myself lost in thinking about, who would live here in the future? Would the human race be extinct after the day I pass away?

Voices of people in policymaking ?

Not a random thought but I think about it quite frequently. Article 22 of the Constitution states that " Power and authority shall be decentralized and devolved to elected local governments to facilitate the direct participation of the people in the development and management of their own social, economic and environmental well-being”. But how???

Am I only the one or there are many people (especially youths) not aware of the platforms for direct participation in policymaking? How the voices of people are heard by the policymakers?

Investiture Ceremony of Student Leaders

It is a huge honour being amongst the twenty student leaders for the academic years 2021 and 2022.   A formal investiture and oath-taking ceremony for student leaders took place today coinciding with 1st September, on an auspicious day.

Of many invaluable words from the President, he highlighted that "student leaders are important for the student body of the college,  just like an umbilical cord to the fetus in the womb".

Looking forward to working together towards the well-being of everyone.

THE TIME WE LIVE IN

Many physicists, astronomers, and scientists, in general, put immense effort into studying the beginning of this universe. Out of many theories, the Big-Bang theory became the most accepted theory by everyone. About 13.8 billion years ago, this universe was born with the BIG-BANG. By the way, this article is not about how the universe started with the BIG-BANG. It is about 13.8 years after the BIG-BANG, the present days.

The twenty-first century is synonymously called the digital era. People born during the digital age are called digital natives. Most importantly, one should realize that it is the time of information explosion. The information explosion is the rapid increase in the amount of published information or data and the effects of this abundance. Each and everyone is responsible for filtering the best ones of the abundantly available information. Consuming the required knowledge will make one move forward with time.

"The continued focus on textbooks and content without integrating technology and social learning risks perpetuating passive modes of learning. Then, whatever education our children acquire today will become irrelevant and obsolete when they graduate." stated His Majesty the King of Bhutan in Royal Edict on Education Reform. In line with these invaluable words of His Majesty, it is the responsibility of both teachers and students to stay updated with information and be competent individuals.

If one does not move forward, then the person is moving backward. But, to move forward, what are the knowledge and skills required? Blockchain, artificial intelligence, automation, and ........

Please list the knowledge and skills required in the digital age in the comment section.

Changala the elder brother of Chudrula expires

It is sad to know that Changala, the elder brother of Chudrula expired. We would no more see the brothers together, loving and caring for each other.

Whenever I visited Bumthang, seeing them, used to bring me a smile. I have never seen them walking without one being by the side of another. They were the epitome of brotherhood.

Deepest condolences to Chudrula.

May Changala find a better path for being the faithful brother and angelic human.

Om Mani Padme Hum!

5000 Subscribers on my YouTube Channel

My YouTube channel Mr Nidu crossed 5000 subscribers. Thank you for the love and supports that everyone has rendered in my content-creating journey. At this time, I am a learner and do not even fall in the category of content creators. However, with every passing day, I am learning to become the best version of myself in this particular field.

To me, getting 5000 subscribers is a big achievement. However, I also can't hide the fact that I struggled to reach this level. Thank you, everyone, once again!
