Trigonometry in real life: The height of the flagpole

In a quest to bridge theory with reality, I guided my students through an application of trigonometry: measuring the height of a flagpole. We calculated the  height of the flagpole using the angle of elevation and baseline distance.

Formula:

Height of flagpole = baseline distance * tan(θ)

VIVA VOCE Introduction Sample for BCSE: Nidup Jamtsho

 Viva-Voce: Introduction

My name is Nidup Jamtsho. I graduated from Samtse College of Education in June this year, with a Bachelor of Education in Physics and Mathematics. I am from Drepong under Mongar Dzongkhag. I completed my high school in the science stream from Yadi Higher Secondary School in 2017. Throughout my educational journey, I have been academically sound and obtained many academic excellence awards including the precious certificate from his majesty the king. Among special awards, I was awarded the Best Student of the year at my primary and high school. In college, I was awarded both prestigious awards; President’s Award for Outstanding Student Leadership and the Award for Valuable Contribution. During my teaching practice, I was awarded the Principal’s Certificate of Commendation signed by the Dzongdag, which was the first of its kind.

I have held various leadership positions from my primary school to college. Out of all the leadership roles, I happened to be the school captain in both primary and high school. I was also the councillor at the college. I was the overall commander during the 48th batch De-Suungtraining at Wing VIII, SamtseWhile serving in the capacity of those roles, I have had the privilege of learning many things like communication skills, patience, empathy, accountability, and many other life skills.

I participated in various co-curricular activities in my school and college. Among those activities, I would not miss the events related to social services. I was an active scout member who got an opportunity to undergo scout leadership training in 2015. Through the membership of the Tarayana club, GNH program, and SDG program, I used to involve myself with social services. I am the founder of an unofficial youth group called KuenphenYouth which was formed with the goal to render social services.

In addition to all those things, I consider myself a passionate content creator and a blogger. With all these qualities and my willingness to constantly reinvent myself, I strongly believe that I can become one of the best teachers in the country to groom the children through a right way and eventually lead to a better nation building.

Pi Network To-Do-List: Your Guide to Success

With the rapid progress in Pi Network, it's natural for many individuals to have questions and concerns. Here is a comprehensive to-do-list to help you navigate the world of Pi Network listed from my opinion.

1. Stay Calm About KYC: Don't worry if you haven't secured a KYC (Know Your Customer) slot or if your KYC application hasn't been approved yet. If you are a genuine human participant, trust that you will have a fair chance to complete KYC in due time. Pi Network is committed to ensuring that all real individuals have the opportunity to participate fully.

2. Download the Pi Browser App: If you have been mining Pi solely through the mining app, it's essential to download the Pi Browser App. This application will allow you to generate a wallet and perform necessary actions such as checking your KYC status. By having both apps installed, you can maximize your engagement with the Pi Network ecosystem.

3. Secure Your Passphrase: When creating your wallet, the most crucial step is to keep your passphrase safe. Your passphrase acts as the key to your wallet and ensures that only you can access your funds. Take extra precautions to store it in a secure location and avoid sharing it with anyone else. By safeguarding your passphrase, you guarantee the safety of your Pi holdings.

4. Complete the Mainnet Checklist: Pi Network has provided a comprehensive mainnet checklist within the Pi Network app. It is highly recommended to go through this checklist and complete the necessary steps. This ensures that you are fully prepared for the transition to the mainnet when it becomes available. By staying proactive, you position yourself for success in the Pi Network ecosystem.

5. Notify and Assist Your Referral Team: If you have built a referral team within Pi Network, it's important to keep them informed about the KYC application process. Help guide them through the necessary steps and provide support whenever needed. Remember, by supporting others in your referral team, you contribute to the growth and success of the entire Pi Network community.

6. Keep Mining: Finally, continue mining Pi diligently. By consistently engaging with the Pi Network app, you contribute to the security and stability of the network. Mining Pi is a vital part of the ecosystem and rewards participants for their contribution. The more you mine, the greater your potential rewards and the stronger the Pi Network becomes.

Best Regards

The Excitement and Apprehension of a New Teacher

As a new teacher joining amid reforms and transformation, I am filled with both excitement and apprehension. I know that I have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of my students, but I also feel the weight of the responsibility that comes with being a teacher.

The world is changing rapidly, and I know that I need to be prepared to adapt to the needs of 21st-century students. I am determined to create an environment that can provide my students with the tools they need to succeed. I also know that there would be many challenges ahead. The education system is in a state of flux, and I would need to be prepared to learn new methodologies, unlearn old ways of doing things, and relearn as needed.

Despite the challenges, I am confident in my ability to rise to the occasion. I am committed to staying engaged and continuing to grow as a teacher.

As I embark on the new journey, I am filled with a sense of purpose and determination.

Making Every Moment Count

Making every moment count is a mindset that emphasizes the importance of being present and engaged in the present moment. It means taking an active role in creating a fulfilling and meaningful life, rather than passively letting life pass by. By making every moment count, we can make the most of our time, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

One of the keys to making every moment count is mindfulness. Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present at the moment, without judgment. It allows us to observe our thoughts and emotions without getting caught up in them, and to respond to the world around us with compassion and understanding. By being mindful, we can fully experience and appreciate the beauty and wonder of the present moment, rather than letting our thoughts and emotions distract us.

Another key to making every moment count is setting and achieving goals. Having a clear sense of purpose and direction can help us to focus our efforts and make the most of our time. Setting goals allows us to break down our aspirations into achievable steps, and to track our progress toward achieving them. It also helps us to stay motivated and focused and helps us to look back and reflect on what we have accomplished.

Gratitude is also a very important aspect of making every moment count. Taking the time to be thankful for the things we have in our lives, whether big or small, can help us to appreciate the present moment and the people in our lives. This practice can also lead to a more positive outlook on life and reduce the negative impact of stress and anxiety in our lives.

Another way to make every moment count is by building and nurturing relationships with the people around us. The human connection is an essential aspect of a fulfilling and meaningful life. Strong relationships with friends, family, and loved ones can provide us with a sense of belonging, and help us to feel supported and loved. It can also offer us the chance to help others and make a positive impact on their lives.

Finally, another important step in making every moment count is to practice self-care. This includes taking care of our physical, emotional, and mental health. This can include regular exercise, eating healthy, getting enough sleep, and taking time to relax and de-stress. Self-care can help us to be more resilient and better able to navigate the challenges that come with life.

Making every moment count requires a shift in perspective, an intentional mindset, and a willingness to actively engage with life. By practicing mindfulness, setting goals, practicing gratitude, building relationships, and taking care of ourselves, we can make the most of every moment and create a life that is rich, meaningful, and fulfilled.
