Pi Network To-Do-List: Your Guide to Success

With the rapid progress in Pi Network, it's natural for many individuals to have questions and concerns. Here is a comprehensive to-do-list to help you navigate the world of Pi Network listed from my opinion.

1. Stay Calm About KYC: Don't worry if you haven't secured a KYC (Know Your Customer) slot or if your KYC application hasn't been approved yet. If you are a genuine human participant, trust that you will have a fair chance to complete KYC in due time. Pi Network is committed to ensuring that all real individuals have the opportunity to participate fully.

2. Download the Pi Browser App: If you have been mining Pi solely through the mining app, it's essential to download the Pi Browser App. This application will allow you to generate a wallet and perform necessary actions such as checking your KYC status. By having both apps installed, you can maximize your engagement with the Pi Network ecosystem.

3. Secure Your Passphrase: When creating your wallet, the most crucial step is to keep your passphrase safe. Your passphrase acts as the key to your wallet and ensures that only you can access your funds. Take extra precautions to store it in a secure location and avoid sharing it with anyone else. By safeguarding your passphrase, you guarantee the safety of your Pi holdings.

4. Complete the Mainnet Checklist: Pi Network has provided a comprehensive mainnet checklist within the Pi Network app. It is highly recommended to go through this checklist and complete the necessary steps. This ensures that you are fully prepared for the transition to the mainnet when it becomes available. By staying proactive, you position yourself for success in the Pi Network ecosystem.

5. Notify and Assist Your Referral Team: If you have built a referral team within Pi Network, it's important to keep them informed about the KYC application process. Help guide them through the necessary steps and provide support whenever needed. Remember, by supporting others in your referral team, you contribute to the growth and success of the entire Pi Network community.

6. Keep Mining: Finally, continue mining Pi diligently. By consistently engaging with the Pi Network app, you contribute to the security and stability of the network. Mining Pi is a vital part of the ecosystem and rewards participants for their contribution. The more you mine, the greater your potential rewards and the stronger the Pi Network becomes.

The Excitement and Apprehension of a New Teacher

As a new teacher joining amid reforms and transformation, I am filled with both excitement and apprehension. I know that I have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of my students, but I also feel the weight of the responsibility that comes with being a teacher.

The world is changing rapidly, and I know that I need to be prepared to adapt to the needs of 21st-century students. I am determined to create an environment that can provide my students with the tools they need to succeed. I also know that there would be many challenges ahead. The education system is in a state of flux, and I would need to be prepared to learn new methodologies, unlearn old ways of doing things, and relearn as needed.

Despite the challenges, I am confident in my ability to rise to the occasion. I am committed to staying engaged and continuing to grow as a teacher.

As I embark on the new journey, I am filled with a sense of purpose and determination.

Making Every Moment Count

Making every moment count is a mindset that emphasizes the importance of being present and engaged in the present moment. It means taking an active role in creating a fulfilling and meaningful life, rather than passively letting life pass by. By making every moment count, we can make the most of our time, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

One of the keys to making every moment count is mindfulness. Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present at the moment, without judgment. It allows us to observe our thoughts and emotions without getting caught up in them, and to respond to the world around us with compassion and understanding. By being mindful, we can fully experience and appreciate the beauty and wonder of the present moment, rather than letting our thoughts and emotions distract us.

Another key to making every moment count is setting and achieving goals. Having a clear sense of purpose and direction can help us to focus our efforts and make the most of our time. Setting goals allows us to break down our aspirations into achievable steps, and to track our progress toward achieving them. It also helps us to stay motivated and focused and helps us to look back and reflect on what we have accomplished.

Gratitude is also a very important aspect of making every moment count. Taking the time to be thankful for the things we have in our lives, whether big or small, can help us to appreciate the present moment and the people in our lives. This practice can also lead to a more positive outlook on life and reduce the negative impact of stress and anxiety in our lives.

Another way to make every moment count is by building and nurturing relationships with the people around us. The human connection is an essential aspect of a fulfilling and meaningful life. Strong relationships with friends, family, and loved ones can provide us with a sense of belonging, and help us to feel supported and loved. It can also offer us the chance to help others and make a positive impact on their lives.

Finally, another important step in making every moment count is to practice self-care. This includes taking care of our physical, emotional, and mental health. This can include regular exercise, eating healthy, getting enough sleep, and taking time to relax and de-stress. Self-care can help us to be more resilient and better able to navigate the challenges that come with life.

Making every moment count requires a shift in perspective, an intentional mindset, and a willingness to actively engage with life. By practicing mindfulness, setting goals, practicing gratitude, building relationships, and taking care of ourselves, we can make the most of every moment and create a life that is rich, meaningful, and fulfilled.

The Motivation

 Are you feeling down and in need of a little motivation? It's completely normal to feel that way from time to time, but it's important to remember that you are strong and capable of overcoming any challenges that come your way.

First and foremost, it's important to take care of yourself. Make sure you are getting enough rest, eating nutritious meals, and taking breaks to relax and recharge. It's hard to face challenges head-on when you are feeling drained and overwhelmed.

Next, try to focus on the present moment and let go of any negative thoughts about the past or worries about the future. It can be helpful to practice mindfulness techniques, such as deep breathing or meditation, to bring your attention to the present moment.

Remember that you are not alone and there are people in your life who care about you and want to support you. Don't be afraid to reach out to a friend, family member, or counselor for help and guidance. It takes strength to ask for help, and it can make all the difference in overcoming your challenges.

Lastly, try to find the silver lining in difficult situations. Every challenge presents an opportunity for growth and learning. It may not be easy, but by facing challenges head-on and learning from them, you can become even stronger and more resilient.

So don't give up! You have the strength and capability to overcome any obstacle that comes your way. Believe in yourself and keep pushing forward.

How to write a statement of purpose (SOP)?

A statement of purpose (SOP) is an important part of your application to study abroad. It is an opportunity to showcase your strengths, achievements, and goals, and to explain why you are a good fit for the program or university to which you are applying. Here are a few tips to help you write a strong SOP for studying abroad:

Start early: Give yourself plenty of time to brainstorm, write, and revise your SOP. This will help you avoid feeling rushed or overwhelmed and allow you to produce a well-thought-out and polished final product.

Know your audience: Your SOP should be tailored to the specific program or university you are applying to. Research the institution's mission and values, and explain how your goals and experiences align with them.

Be specific: Rather than generalizing or listing your achievements and accomplishments, focus on specific examples that demonstrate your skills and strengths. Use concrete details and anecdotes to make your SOP more engaging and memorable.

Show, don't just tell: Rather than just telling the reader that you are passionate or dedicated, use specific examples to illustrate these qualities. For example, rather than saying "I am a hard worker," describe a specific project or experience that demonstrates your work ethic.

Edit and proofread: Pay attention to grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and have someone else review your SOP for feedback. A well-written statement of purpose can make a big difference in your application.

Be authentic: Your SOP should reflect your unique voice and experiences. Don't try to write what you think the admissions committee wants to hear; instead, be genuine and honest about your goals and motivations.

Explain your motivation: In your SOP, be sure to explain why you are interested in studying abroad and how it fits into your long-term goals.

Writing an SOP for study abroad can be a daunting task, but with some careful planning and attention to detail, you can produce a standout essay that will help you stand out in the admissions process. Good luck!

We are human beings _ Dalai Lama

 I’m a refugee. I lost my country. But wherever we are, we are still human beings. When I smile at someone, they almost invariably smile back. Through the internet, television and radio we can be in touch with the rest of the world. The whole population has become our community and seven to eight billion human beings have become part of our family. We have to live together. We can’t escape to another planet. The moon looks beautiful in the sky, but we couldn’t live there.

Sunset

 The view of the SUNSET from Ma-Yul

The sunset reminds us of the ultimate common exit. But! How often do we take the reminder, though it perpetuates every day? We are so consumed by worldly pursuits. Of course, we ought to make the arrangements for sustenance. We must, however, spread love, compassion, and humanity as it is indisputable fact that we all have a shared common way out.

How does your e-mail contriute to carbon fooprints ?

 Just like me before reading articles, watching videos, & have a contemplation on this topic for weeks, emails contributing to global warming would be an illogical statement. It took me a fair amount of time to have a basic understanding of this topic. By writing this post, I do not intend to boast about what I have understood but I intend to advocate this as one of the global concerns. Before doing so, how many mail accounts do you hold  (can be Gmail, Yahoo mail, Hotmail, & so)? How many emails do you send or receive in a day? Out of the total emails you receive in a week, what percent of it is important, & what percent are SPAM mails?

The emergence of the electronic mail system has greatly made our lives easy just like any other technology. It has also reduced the usage of papers which would otherwise require cutting down trees on large scale to produce papers. But is using the electronic mail system a hundred percent eco-friendly? Many of us have never thought of what it takes to compose, send, receive, read, & store emails on the servers.

Composing, sending, receiving, & storing mail uses energy (precisely electrical energy). I am not mentioning what amount of energy because this is beyond my knowledge. I recommend my readers to refer to other articles, & watch videos for a deeper understanding of the same. The only thing we can say for sure is that the number of users in the electronic mail system is huge across the globe. No need of doing complicated maths but it can be concluded that the total energy consumption due to activities related to the electronic mail system will be definitely very high. The consumption of electrical energy means the creation of a carbon footprint. A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases (including carbon dioxide and methane) that are generated by any activity. This is my basic understanding of the relation between email, & carbon footprints. While it is time to adapt to the new technologies, what are the things that we can do to minimize the possible disadvantages?

I would suggest following healthy habits of using the e-mail system

1. Compose emails to the point than writing lengthy ones

2. Make a habit of checking, & deleting spam mail

3. If you are done with the follow-ups pertaining to a mail that you received, delete it.

4.  Avoid writing short emails like, 'Received the mail", 'Thanks for the mail', & so.

Week II Reflection

After we were assigned to write our backstories, it made me reflect on my strengths, weaknesses, & aspirations. To enhance my well-being ( emotional, physical, & social), I have set certain goals in each domain. This activity has indeed allowed me to be conscious of the things that would help to ultimately develop myself into a person of substance.

During the second session, I was privileged, & fortunate to share my blogging journey with the mentor & other mentees while I presented the common blog that I created for our team. I felt motivated to be an active learner in blogging by many encouraging remarks from the mentor, & other mentees.

Induction session for National Executive Members : G17 UAC Bhutan

The induction session for the National Executive Members, G17 UAC Bhutan, shall be remembered as another remarkable event of my life. The introduction to 'The Roads to Rights' was an extraordinary story of an eight-year boy thinking about bringing changes in the community. Meeting, & getting to know other National Executive Members was exciting. Above all, listening to the founder, Mr. Ashan Perera's speech was the most amazing moment.

Virtual, yet it was a well-organized session coordinated by Ms.Yeshi, vice-chairperson G17 UAC Bhutan, bringing alike minded individuals together, striving to actualize the global goals, 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Week I Reflection

The session sowed a lot of curiosity in me. Although it was just an introductory session about the mentor-mentee program which was born from the Bhutan Baccalaureate curriculum (His Majesty's concept of the education system), it has made me think about the following points as a future educator.

  •  The Role Shift: Just by going through the guidelines of the program, & with some knowledge of the Bhutan Baccalaureate, in the future, the typical notion of 'a teacher knows everything' would come to end. An Educator would become the facilitator, & a learner with other learners. That implies that a student can also be a teacher to peers, & possibly to the teachers as well.
  • The Openness of Curriculum: Writing backstories, understanding selves, & writing roadmaps is the indication of finding our innate potential. If the same is to be practiced in the schools, the curriculum should not restrict various learners from discovering their potential. Thus, the curriculum must be open, & flexible.
  • Replace Theoretical Lectures with Practical  Skill Developments: After discovering the potential, hands-on skill-developing programs would follow, & make competent learners.

This signboard should be removed or changed

I am sorry if I sound unappreciative, but I think this signboard should be removed or changed. I was wondering, what if an illiterate group of pilgrims happens to pass by? Won't this be mistaken for drubchu (holy-water)? This is a possibility that can not be denied as the entire population of our country is not literate. 😬

Found this on the way to Taktshang.

Book Drive : Samtse College of Education

Book Drive is one of my initiatives in Samtse College of Education launched on 4th October 2021 with an objective to promote and encourage reading in students and staff through sharing of books and making reading resources more accessible to reading enthusiasts. The initiative was able to launch successfully with generous support from the president of the college (Dr.Rinchen Dorji) who is also an advisor of DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) programme, JK furniture house, DEAR programme members, college librarians, and everyone in the college. The  Book Drive happens in the following two modes:

Mode 1: Staff and students who own personal books for reading deposit their books at the College Library for a Semester as part of sharing the resources to enable other interested readers to read these books. The College Library maintains the record and returns the books to the owner at the end of the Semester.

Mode 2: Staff and students DONATE their personal books for good as a contribution in expanding the reading resources in the College Library.

Brief Profile of Rigzin Research & Consultancy Services

I would like to share a brief profile of Rigzin Consultancy, for your information.

Objectives:

Realizing the government’s noble vision of recruiting multi-skilled and competent civil servants through the conduct of competitive exams by the RCSC; we initiated the first BCSE (RCSE) coaching program in the country in 2011, to participate as a humble contributor in the national Human Resource Development.

Our Professional Team of Tutors:

Consist of university graduates who have exhibited scholarly achievements in their undergraduate degree and their subsequent engagement with the BCSE course program organized by our coaching center has positioned themselves as overall national toppers, super-achievers, and record setters in the various BCSE category;

As a token of their successes, they have voluntarily joined our coaching center as professionalized tutors to sustain the ever-growing reputation of our consultancy and to translate the similar results of meritocracy to the upcoming graduates;

Our team of experts is secured with a high level of enthusiasm, competency, dynamism, dedication, and academic perspectives, with experiences ranging from five to sixteen years.

Our Course Books and Materials

Course Books and Materials are developed through exhaustive research by respective subject specialists considering the pattern of questions asked in past BCSE, consistently updated annually, and incorporate feedback as suggested by BCSE super-achievers and tutors;

The outreach of our course books and materials is extensive as it is referred by most BCSE aspirants, including non-course takers passed from senior to junior graduates or from elder to younger siblings. The reachability to maximum graduates portrays its usefulness and benefits.

In the interest of our course takers, we print limited copies of updated course books (just sufficient) to be issued free of cost to our course takers only as supplementary resources to guide their missed topics during the classroom-based sessions.

Our Commitments

We undertake the BCSE coaching program with the greatest commitment by paying special attention to graduates facing difficulty in either of the four components of P.E. (for instance, we concentrate on graduates requiring special needs in Math, Dzongkha, or English component owing to the non-inclusivity of the said subjects during the undergraduate program). We also emphasize those fast learners to enhance their intellectual abilities further. The close observations, extended hours of teaching, and one-on-one sessions are the preferred mode of sessional delivery that makes our coaching program, distinctively unique and assistive.

To equip our course takers with adequate practical skills, we organize time-observed and RCSC rules bounded ‘Mock Preliminary Examination’ through the application of the OMR Sheet, a session on procedural conduct, and follow-up feedback for need-based improvements.

These facilities are provided without any additional fee.

Our achievements (2011 to 2020)

With the joint efforts of tutors, management, and graduates; the course takers of the center have secured commendable results in three consecutive years (2018-2020) as under:

2020: Whole Bhutan Toppers (08) and Other Category Toppers (26). Total (34);

2019: Whole Bhutan Toppers (07) and Other Category Toppers (28). Total (35);

2018: Whole Bhutan Toppers (10) and Other Category Toppers (36). Total (46);

The records from 2012- to 2020 reveal the following achievements:

National Overall Toppers: 9 (2012- 2020);

Qualified to RIM (PGDPA, PGFM, and PGDNL): 40-50% annually;

Qualified B.Ed. Graduates (2016-2020): 85-95% annually;

Qualified to PCE and SCE (PGDE): 75-85% annually.

Qualifier for Technical Category: 50-60% annually.

Total Graduates (2012-2020) passed from this center: over 11,000;

Managing Team

To ensure smooth and efficient operation of daily coaching sessions, we have a proactive management team, that is customer-friendly with experience in responding to changing dynamics of the situation and in preparing customized/flexible teaching-learning schedules through systemic coordination between the subject tutors and group coordinators.

In addition, the management team has undergone “COVID-19 Safety and Health Protocol Training” in 2020 (organized by MoH and MoLHR) which enabled them to organize a coaching program following COVD-19 protocols and guidance. The classrooms are equipped with sanitizers and thermometers so that COVID-19 requirements and social distancing mandates have been fully adhered to. The welfare and safety of our course takers are our utmost priority.

The core team members of the management team hold a Master’s Degree in Buddhist Philosophy with experiences in serving various capacities as consultants, resource persons, curriculum developers, researchers, and lecturers for nine years and have produced proficient research books and papers.

To assure the quality surveillance of day-to-day programming during Coaching Session; I, as the overall Program Director, would be constantly monitoring and supervising by spearheading consultative meetings and feedback sessions with the tutors and the graduates.

Founding Director.

A trip to Taktshang (tiger lair)

This was the most awaited & exalted trip to Taktshang (tiger lair) with friends. Writing the entire history or legend of Taktshang by an ordinary person like me would just lead to distortion of the precious story. I have read through a few articles online, & listened to the verbal narrations.

Of the slightest deviations in the legend shared on different papers, & narrated by different persons, a source says that the name Taktshang (tiger lair) was derived after the incident of Guru Rinpochoe in the form of Guru Dorji Drolo (riding on a tigress) flew from Singye Dzong to the cliff where Taktshang is situated now.

As a first-time visitor, I found myself admiring, & appreciating the extraordinary architecture glued on the endless cliff. The blessings were more than wished to have gotten a chance to pray in front of the Guru Suungjoen statue, & many other sacred sites for the well-being of the sentient beings.

Happy Pi Day!

As a person majoring in mathematics, I value the mathematical constant, Pi (π). It is the ratio of a circle's circumference to it,s diameter. March 14, the 14th day of the third month of a year is celebrated as pi day across the world. It's Pi Day because the date resembles the approximate value 3.14. Another reason to mark the day has added to millions of people as it is also a founding day of the Pi cryptocurrency. Today, we will be celebrating the third anniversary of the Pi Network.

To all the mathematics enthusiasts & millions of Pi Network member friends, HAPPY PI DAY!

If an expectation is taken as pure certaintity

No, I am not trying to be a philosopher. It's just that I decided to keep typing whatever idea that popup in my mind, but now I am stuck. From where do I start? Maybe I should give the title of my blog only after I stop writing and decide to publish it.

                  Do not judge me if I am biased on what I say, and I am not expecting anyone to believe whatever I say. Okay, the word 'expecting' triggered me to write my view on expecting less in life. Not just you, not just me either, but almost everyone keeps on expecting loads as we keep living. I chose to say, almost everyone, indicating my consideration for a few exceptional humans. Our expectations are limitless, and it begins as we open our eyes in the morning from our sleep.

                   I do not see a necessity in listing down all the possible expectations we make. Take a few moments to reflect on what you have expected in the past ten minutes. Getting a beautiful birthday wish from your closest person? Your crush to agree for a date over a candle-light dinner? Expected your boss to promote you for your outstanding performance in the past few days? Whatsoever, and the list continues. Let us have a common understanding that all expectations are in the fantasy world of the mind. Our mind is crazy, isn't it? Expectations gradually get knitted in our minds as certainties. Nothing can be said for certain from someone if it is not you.

                         Many say, expectations hurt and that's true. I won't say you not to expect anything in life. It is very normal to expect but do not take any expectation as pure certainty. Meaning, expect the unexpected and not to expect the expected. Maybe I should stop this bluffing here. I am skeptical of what meaning I have conveyed. I know my words would have made no sense to some but I am taking leave by giving the title of this blogpost, 'if an expectation is taken as pure certainty'.

HAPPY 11th DE-SUUNG RAISING DAY

Eleven years ago, a project by the name of De-Suung was born from the heart of the selfless leader,  His Majesty the King. Today is the day to extend our gratitude to our supreme commander and remind who are De-Suups. De-Suug is considered the highest form of voluntary action in Bhutan. In orange uniform, we are the De-Suup Nyamros. We are the 'Guardians of Peace', coming from all walks of life.

On this very important day, let us all remember the common commitment of serving the Tsa-Wa-Sum (King, Country, and People) and our guiding values.

Happy Eleventh Raising Day to all the De-Suup Nyamros!

Officially a De-Suup: The End of Beginning

Along with all the Nyamros (friends) who underwent the 48th Batch of De-Suung training, I take a breath of satisfaction and success. We are officially the members of 'Guardian of Peace' coinciding with the birth anniversary of His Royal Highness, Gyalsey, Jigme Namgyal Wangchuck. Congratulations to all the Nyamros trained in various training centers. With the orange uniform, we have shared commitments in the service of His Majesty the King. I will always cherish the training period and the privilege I had of being the parade commander (De-Suung Captain). I shall strive towards maintaining the sanctity of the uniform, as advised by the King.

Welcoming the new year 2022 with the roomies.

 The three of have been living under the same ceiling for three years in the college (Samtse College of Education). We just have a semester more to mature and create memories together.

For the first time in three years, we got to be together on the first day of the new year (1/1/22) while we wait for the De-Suung training. Otherwise, we would have gone home for the winter vacation. As we welcome the new year and mark Nyilo, we made our day out to hoist wind horse prayer flags (Luung Dhar).

To the world, we wish for happiness, peace, freedom, and all the positivity for the new year. Happy New Year 2022.

Mainnet of the Pi Network

The Mainnet of the Pi blockchain will go live soon (it can be earliest by tomorrow or latest by in a few days). Pi Mainet going live in simple words mean that we will be able to see the value of the Pi in the blockchain. In other words, Pi will become a full-fledged cryptocurrency.

The Mainnet will have two periods:

1. The Enclosed Network
In this period, the Pi network will not have external connectivity. However, pioneers can use Pi for any kind of exchange in goods and services within the network. This period will also allow pioneers to pass KYC and migrate the Pi to Mainnet blockchain (transfer in wallets).

2. The Open Network
Most probably on 14th March 2022, on Pi day (depending on the maturity of the enclosed network period), the open network will begin. That will be the period where Pi network will have all external connectivity with any other network.

Important Requirements Before the Mainnet
  • Download Pi Browser
  • Create a Pi Wallet ( Do not forget to copy and keep the passphrases secure. In the Mainnet, you cannot reset the passphrase and all your Pi will be lost
  • Decide how much Pi you want to lock up
  • Submit your KYC Application (coming soon)
Dear Pioneers (especially Bhutanese), feel free to drop any queries in the comment box.

Just to look back some days

How the days are spent counts more than the number of days that pass by. What could be paralleled to the time well spent with the pals?

As we age, our memory may fade. So, I am keeping a written memory of us, dear brothers.

Pi Mainnet Coming Soon : Things to do before the mainnet

 Hello Pioneers!

Pi is entering the mainnet soon. It will happen before the end of 2021. This means pi will become a real currency soon in the blockchain. Besides excitement, the following are some of the things one must complete before the mainnet.

1. Since the mass KYC (know your customer) verification will be done soon, all must verify phone number, email, Facebook, and password to hasten the verification process of KYC.

2. Download Pi browser

3. Generate Pi wallet and keep the passphrase safe and secure

4. Finally Keep MINING

A grandma's point of view

I lived here for decades and I would never imagine living away from the place where I was born. Living in the village is like living in a higher realm than in chaotic towns. I am a mother of nine children and all of them prefer living in towns.

One would expect children to be at the service of parents at their old age. In my case, not even one of the nine children lives in the village with me. Some of them live in Zhung (referred to as the capital city of Bhutan, Thimphu), and the rest in Ja (abroad). It is even harder for me to believe the situation than any other person. Nevertheless, I am breathing the air of calmness in my village. It is very sad to observe the reducing number of neighbors, houses being locked, and fields left to become forests.

The younger generations are interested in accessing modern facilities which they believe to be getting in the urban places. They completely forget that the basic needs of humans, starting from organic food to free shelters are abundantly present in villages. Sometimes, I get myself lost in thinking about, who would live here in the future? Would the human race be extinct after the day I pass away?
